Faynara Merege wants to strengthen Ponta Grossa's influence in Brasília

The candidate for federal deputy Faynara Merege Barbosa (Novo) defended the increase in the representativeness of Ponta Grossa and Campos Gerais in the Chamber of Deputies and presented the main axes of her candidacy during an interview with Portal BnT Online, on Wednesday (9). Faynara competes in the 2026 elections for Paraná and has the number 3007.

Natural of Ponta Grossa, Faynara said that the application brings together accumulated experiences both in the public sector and in the private initiative. During the interview, she highlighted her training in Civil Engineering and Management and Public Policies, as well as the passage through municipal, state and federal bodies.

The candidate was also municipal secretary of Industry, Commerce and Professional Qualification of Ponta Grossa, a position she left in April this year to compete for a seat in the Federal Chamber.

Representativeness of Campos Gerais

One of the main points defended by Faynara is the expansion of the political presence of the region in Brasilia. According to her, the Campos Gerais have more than 800,000 voters and need to expand their participation in national decisions.

“My candidacy is not to be another name in the ballot box. It really is an alternative,” he said. The candidate also stressed that she intends to represent a “female and young voice” in the Chamber of Deputies.

For Faynara, the work of a federal parliamentarian should not be restricted to the destination of amendments. According to her, it is also necessary to act in the formulation of public policies and in the defense of regional interests.

Experience in the City Hall

During the interview, Faynara cited projects developed while at the head of the Secretariat of Industry, Trade and Professional Qualification.

Among the initiatives mentioned are the Women in Industry programs, aimed at the qualification and female insertion in the labor market; Talent Engineering, aimed at young university students; and Capable Program, aimed at the qualification and professional reintegration of people served by social programs.

The candidate also pointed to the granting of Santana Airport to the private initiative as one of the actions in which she participated during her passage by the municipal administration. For her, investments in infrastructure and professional qualification are fundamental to sustain the economic growth of Ponta Grossa.

Three axes to Brasilia

In the dispute for a seat in the House, Faynara said that he structured his proposals into three axes and 12 commitments. The first, called “Prosperity for Brazil”, provides for measures related to the reduction of bureaucracy and taxes, as well as incentives for industry, technology, entrepreneurship and professional qualification.

The second axis, “Municipalities that Transform”, concentrates proposals focused on the needs of the cities and the infrastructure of the Campos Gerais. The third, called “Freedom for the Future”, brings together topics such as public safety, education and health.

Highways and infrastructure

Faynara also pointed to the infrastructure as one of the main bottlenecks of the Paraná. During the interview, he cited BRs 277 and 376 and stated that the lack of complete duplication of highways harms both the safety and the transport of Paraná production.

According to the candidate, if elected, one of the priorities will be to seek resources and work together with the State Government to expand investments in the sector. “Of course I will end up defending Ponta Grossa and Campos Gerais a lot more, because I’m from here and we need to expand that representativeness,” he said.

At the end of the interview, Faynara reinforced the discourse of political renewal and stated that she intends to seek a female representation of Ponta Grossa in the Federal Chamber.
