Feira Mais cancels editions in Castro after flooding caused by rains
Feira Mais in Castro cancels editions of September 17 and 18 due to rains and flooding. New dates will be announced.

The editions of the Feira Mais in Castro scheduled for Thursday (17) and Friday (18) were canceled due to the weather conditions and the floods registered in the municipality. The information was confirmed by the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture, which should set new dates for attendance of the communities affected by the change.
According to the City Hall, part of the team responsible for Feira Mais and the truck used by the program were directed temporarily to assist in the actions carried out in the regions affected by the floods.
The professionals are mainly collaborating in the rescue of residents and in the removal of furniture from homes affected by the floods.
Communities that would be served
On Thursday (17), the program provided attendance to the localities of Caxambu, Três Pinheiros, Podolan and Samambaia.
Already on Friday (18), the Feira Mais would pass through Vila Poço Grande, Vila Santa Cruz and Santa Clara.
The Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture said that new dates for these communities will still be evaluated and released later. The recovery depends on the weather conditions and the situation of the areas affected by the rains.
Recyclable Exchange Program for Food
The Feira Mais is an initiative of the Prefecture of Castro that brings fruits and vegetables to the communities of the interior and, at the same time, encourages the correct destination of recyclable materials.
For every 10 kilos of recyclable material delivered, the participant receives a food kit.
According to data released by the Municipality, since the beginning of the current management, in 2025, the initiative has already collected 81,035.5 kilograms of recyclable materials.
In the same period, 41,650 kilograms of fruits and vegetables were distributed to the participating families.
More than 4,000 people have already benefited from the Feira Mais, which accumulates investment of approximately R$ 474,000 during its execution.
The Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture reinforced that the program will continue and that the activities in the interior of Castro will be resumed as soon as the conditions allow.
