Felipe, 30, has been missing since Tuesday afternoon, September 8. The accident occurred in the Vila de Uvaia region, near the bridge of Rio Tibagi and BR-373. Since then, the case has mobilized rescue teams and is accompanied by the BnT Online from the first moments of the occurrence.

Boat turned during fishing

Felipe was accompanied by another 28-year-old man during a fishing trip when the boat in which the two were turning turned around.

According to information obtained by the BnT Online directly at the scene on the day of the accident, the man who managed to get out of the water reported that he was organizing the fishing materials when there was a movement at one end of the boat. The ship lost its balance and turned.

The two men fell on the Rio Tibagi. The 28-year-old occupant managed to reach the shore and subsequently reached a residence in the region, where he asked for help so that emergency teams could be activated. Philip, however, remained in the river.

Felipe would have been stuck on the boat

The information raised by the BnT indicates that Felipe would have remained initially clinging to the vessel after the accident. At the time, the Rio Tibagi featured large volume of water and strong current. Felipe eventually went down the river and was never seen again. The Fire Department was activated that afternoon and began the operation to try to locate it.

During the searches carried out on September 8, the teams managed to find the boat used by the two men. Despite the location of the boat, Felipe was not with her and remained missing. The operation continued throughout the Rio Tibagi.

The day after the accident, the search entered on the second day, again with teams of the Fire Department mobilized in the region of Uvaia.

Firefighters continue their search

On Friday (11), three days after the disappearance, the BnT Online confirmed that Felipe was still missing and that firefighters were still operating in the region. Now, on Wednesday, more than a week after the accident, the search continues. Firefighters are still working on the attempt to locate Felipe on Rio Tibagi.

Until the last update, Felipe Van Ryn had not been located. There's no death confirmation. The case continues to be treated as a disappearance while search work continues.
