Felipe Van Ryn remains missing after accident on Rio Tibagi in PG

The search for 30-year-old Felipe Van Ryn missing on Rio Tibagi, on Ponta Grossa, entered the second day on Wednesday. He disappeared after the boat in which he was turning during a fishing trip in the region of the Uvaia district on Tuesday afternoon (8).

Firefighters are still mobilized in an attempt to locate the man. During the work carried out on the first day of the operation, the boat used by the two fishermen was found, but the missing person was not near the vessel.

The incident occurred in the Vila de Uvaia region, near the bridge of Rio Tibagi and BR-373.

Accident occurred during fishing

According to information obtained by the BnT Online team at the site, two men were in the boat when the vessel turned. The occupant who managed to escape, 28, reported that he was organizing the fishing materials when the other man had moved to one of the ends of the boat. The boat ended up unbalanced and the two fell into the river.

The 28-year-old man managed to get out of the water and reach a residence in the area, where he asked for help for the emergency teams. The second occupant, 30 years old, initially remained clinging to the boat, but ended up following the current and was not seen again.

Boat found without missing

On Tuesday, during the search, the teams located the boat that had turned in the river. Despite the location of the vessel, the man was not found. From this, the work continued throughout the course of the Rio Tibagi.

The river had a high volume of water and strong current at the time of the accident, a condition that increases the difficulty of the searches.

Second day of search

On Wednesday, the search reached the second day without the man being located. The Fire Department continues to operate in the region, while families and residents await new information. Until the last update, there was no confirmation of the location of the missing person.
