Festival of the Best Age brings seniors from six cities to Tibagi

The Festival of the Best Age in Tibagi gathered dozens of elderly people from six municipalities of Campos Gerais on Wednesday (2), at the Quirão Sports Gymnasium. The program featured recreational activities, adapted sports and moments of fraternization between the participants.

Promoted by the Association of Municipalities of Campos Gerais (AMCG), through AMCG Esportes and with the support of the municipality of Tibagi, the meeting received participants from Tibagi, Ipiranga, Sengés, Imbaú, Telêmaco Borba and Castro.

The program was especially developed to stimulate the participation of the elderly population in physical and recreational activities, in addition to promoting coexistence between groups of different municipalities in the region.

During the festival, participants were able to participate in adapted sports and other activities aimed at leisure and integration. The meeting also opened space for moments of relaxation, exchange of experiences and strengthening of the bonds between the groups of the elderly of the Campos Gerais.

Sport and quality of life

According to the president of AMCG and mayor of Sengés, Gerson Nunes, the event brings together principles that are part of the actions developed by the association in the municipalities.

“The Festival of Integration of the Best Age represents exactly what the AMCG advocates: union between the municipalities, promotion of the quality of life and valuation of people. To see elderly people from different cities gathered, practicing sports, sharing experiences and strengthening friendships is a reason for great satisfaction,” he said.

The coordinator of AMCG Esportes and municipal secretary of Sports of Tibagi, Maxsuelly Lipke, also highlighted the regional integration provided by the meeting.

According to her, the realization of the Festival of the Best Age in Tibagi allowed to bring together residents of different cities in a program focused on coexistence, leisure and the practice of adapted sports activities.

“It was a very special afternoon, which once again showed the strength of the integration between the municipalities of Campos Gerais. The Festival provides moments of coexistence, leisure and adapted sports activities, valuing the participation of the best age and strengthening the bonds between the municipalities,” he said.

Maxsuelly also highlighted the participation of Tibagi as the host city of the edition. “For Tibagi, receiving this edition is a great satisfaction, and, as AMCG Esportes, we are very happy to provide this regional meeting.”

Festival started in 2026

The initiative seeks to expand the participation of the elderly in sports and recreational activities in the municipalities that are part of the AMCG.

The project began in 2026 and has already had editions held in Ipiranga and Castro. With this Wednesday’s schedule, Tibagi also received the regional meeting.

The proposal is to use sport and recreational activities as instruments of integration between municipalities and to encourage the quality of life of the elderly population of Campos Gerais.
