Fire at a residence in Sabará, in Ponta Grossa, mobilized the Firefighters after flames destroyed part of the property.
A fire in Sabará, in Ponta Grossa, mobilized Firefighters teams on Monday night (21). The incident was recorded in Rua Maestro Bento Mussurunga, where a house was badly damaged after being hit by the flames.
According to information obtained on site, the property had few furniture and had a large amount of recyclable materials stored on the ground and inside the residence. The owner of the house, a 51-year-old man, said he had gone out to buy meat at a nearby establishment when he was warned by locals that the property was on fire.
People noticed the smoke and quickly triggered the Fire Department. By the time the teams arrived at the address, part of the residence was already in flames. The fight was carried out by firefighters, who managed to control the fire and began the aftermath work to eliminate hot spots that could provoke new outbreaks.
Deputy Lieutenant Bruno of the Fire Department said the team had not yet been able to confirm what caused the fire. As reported by the owner, the residence has no connection to the electrical network and there was no equipment connected at the time he left the property.
“We are dealing with a fire in our home. We still don't know what started this fire. The owner also did not report. It is a residence that, in theory, was abandoned, without furniture, but with enough recyclable material,” said the military.
During the service, firefighters reported that there was no record of casualties. After controlling the flames, the team remained on site performing the aftermath, a procedure used to reduce the ambient temperature and prevent the fire from spreading again.
The cause of the fire in the home will still be assessed. According to information provided at the scene, there is a possibility that the fire started in a criminal way, but the hypothesis has not yet been officially confirmed.
The Fire Department advises residents to avoid storing large amounts of flammable or recyclable materials near heat sources, as these products can contribute to the rapid spread of flames in case of fire.
