First elected of 2026 announced in under 1h30
Less than 1h30 after the closing of the voting booths, the Electoral Justice confirmed the first elected officials of 2026. Among them, Reinaldo Azambuja and Capitão Contar were elected to the Senate from MS. The presidential race will have a second round between Flávio Bolsonaro and Lula.

The first candidates elected in the 2026 elections were confirmed less than 1h30 after the closing of the polling places. The agility of the count in some states allowed names for the Senate, governments and parliaments to be defined early in the evening. In parallel, the presidential dispute moves to the second round between Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), scheduled for October 25.
The confirmation of the second presidential round came at 8:56 p.m., when the count indicated that no candidate would reach the absolute majority of the valid votes in the first round. With this, voters will return to the polls at the end of October to decide who will run the country for the next four years.
The Senate defines first elected members in MS
In the Mato Grosso South, the election for the Senate was decided quickly. At 18:29 (Brasilian time), Justiça Eleitoral confirmed the victory of Reinaldo Azambuja and Capitão Contar, both from the PL. The two candidates secured the two vacancies in dispute in the High House of Congresso Nacional.
The early definition drew attention to the efficiency of counting in the state. With less than two hours of counting, the South-Mato-Grossenses already knew their representatives in the Senate. The transition to the next legislature begins to draw with experienced names aligned with the party.
Governor re-elected with broad advantage
At the same time, the counting of the Mato Grosso of the South confirmed the re-election of Eduardo Riedel (PP-MS). The governor ended the contest with 67.07% of the valid votes, an expressive percentage that demonstrates strong popular approval. Riedel will remain in charge of the state for another term.
The first-round victory avoids the need for a new vote in the state and guarantees administrative stability. The result also strengthens the governor’s political group, which will now have four years to implement its government program.
Acre completes count in record time
Acre was the first state to have 100 percent of the ballot boxes counted, at around 7:07 p.m. With the full totalization, the most voted candidates were confirmed: Socorro Neri (PP-AC) as federal deputy and Nicolau Júnior (PP-AC) as state deputy. The rapidity in the count highlighted the state on the national stage.
The definition of the Acreian parliamentarians in less than two hours after the closure of the polls is a milestone for electoral logistics. The result reflects the organization of the local Regional Electoral Court and the participation of voters.
Roraima elects governor without re-election
Among the candidates for governor who did not contest re-election, the first elected was Arthur Henrique (PL), confirmed at 19:08 as a winner in Roraima. The new governor assumes the position with the responsibility to lead the state in a scenario of regional challenges.
The victory of Arthur Henrique represents a renewal in command of the Roraima Executive. The PL candidate outnumbered the competitors and secured the spot already in the first round, avoiding the extension of the dispute.
Tocantins will have a second round of government
The first dispute for the second round for governor was confirmed at 7:10 p.m. in Tocantins. Professor Dorinha (União-TO) and Vicentinho Júnior (PSDB-TO) will compete in the vote scheduled for October 25. Neither of them won an absolute majority in the first round.
The second round will be closely monitored, as it will define the political course of the state. Voters will have the opportunity to choose between two distinct proposals for the state executive.
The counting of the 2026 elections is ongoing throughout the country. The Boca no Trombone Portal will continue to track results and bring new updates throughout the night.
