Flávio Bolsonaro corrects letter after declaring elected president and using old coat of arms
Letter from Flávio Bolsonaro was corrected after using old coat of arms and declaring he would be elected president. See the changes in the document.

The letter of Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), released on Wednesday (28), after his arrival at Estados Unidos, went through amendments after the senator presented himself as the “true elected president of Brazil”, despite the defeat at the polls for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The document also used an old coat of arms of the Republic, with the inscription “Estados Unidos do Brasil”, later replaced by the current official symbol.
The document was initially shared by ally Paulo Figueiredo. A few minutes later, a new version was distributed with the updated coat of arms, which bears the name “Federative Republic of Brazil”. In another amendment, the senator withdrew the expression “elected president” and went on to present himself as “leader of Brazil”.
The changes were recorded on Wednesday, three days after the second round of the presidential elections. The first version had been released amid allegations of electoral fraud made by the senator, without the presentation of evidence to support the allegations.
Old coat of arms was used in the first version
One of the points that caught the attention of the Flávio Bolsonaro card was the use of an outdated official symbol.
The coat of arms stamped on the document had the inscription “Estados Unidos do Brazil”, a name associated with the initial period of the Brazilian Republic, proclaimed on November 15, 1889.
The official denomination of the country became the Federative Republic of Brazil with the Constitution of 1967, while the spelling “Brazil”, with the letter S, had already been officialized in 1931.
After the circulation of the first document, Paulo Figueiredo shared a version with the updated symbol, identifying the replacement as a correction of the coat of arms.
The visual alteration was not the only one. The political content of the declaration has also undergone changes.
Flavio withdrew the expression “elected president”
In the initial version, Flávio Bolsonaro claimed to be the true elected president of Brazil, even after the official confirmation of Lula’s victory by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
Later, the expression was replaced by “leader of Brazil”, in a change in the way the senator presented himself to the public.
According to the result released by TSE, Lula was re-elected on Sunday (25) with 64,256,232, equivalent to 51.79% of the valid votes. Flávio Bolsonaro received 59.826.041 votes, corresponding to 48.21%.
The difference between the two candidates was 4,430.191 votes. The result was proclaimed by the president of TSE, Minister Kassio Nunes Marques.
Senator alleges electoral fraud without presenting evidence
In the letter, Flávio Bolsonaro questions the outcome of the elections and claims to have witnessed an alleged fraud during the second round of voting.
The senator also criticizes the judicial decision that allowed the extension of voting hours in certain localities, adopted after displacement problems faced by voters.
Flavio’s own campaign, however, had requested the extension of voting time in states such as Paraná, São Paulo and Santa Catarina, alleging difficulties caused by weather conditions.
No evidence was presented that demonstrated fraud in the outcome of the presidential election. The TSE reaffirmed confidence in the electoral process.
Flavio promises to lead opposition of the Estados Unidos
The statement was released after Flávio Bolsonaro left Brazil and arrived in Miami, in Estados Unidos, on Wednesday (28).
In the document, the senator states that he intends to lead the opposition to the Lula government from abroad and announces that he will present a strategy of political mobilization in the coming days.
He also thanks the presidents of Donald Trump, of Estados Unidos, and Javier Milei, of Argentina, for the support received after their departure from Brazilian territory.
Flavio still accuses members of the Judiciary of political persecution against his family and disputes the conduct of the electoral process.
PL acknowledged Lula's victory
The position adopted by Flávio Bolsonaro contrasts with the official manifestation of Partido Liberal.
On Monday (26), the PL recognized the presidential result proclaimed by the Superior Electoral Court, although it defended clarifications on questions related to the election.
On Wednesday, after the disclosure of the letter, the legend was sought by the press, but reported that it still did not have a position on the self-proclamation of the senator as president-elect.
The changes made in the letter of Flávio Bolsonaro occurred amid the national repercussion of the statements of the senator, who, even after the confirmation of the defeat, continued to contest the result of the election without presenting evidence of irregularities capable of modifying the official count.
