Flávio says it is "impossible" to recognize the result of the 2026 Elections
After defeat against Lula, senator criticized the extension of the voting determined by minister Cristiano Zanin

The senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) said on Sunday night (25), that he does not recognize the result of the presidential elections of 2026 and announced that he intends to resort to the justice to request the annulment of the elections. The declaration came after the confirmation of the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
"It is impossible to recognize the outcome of the elections in the context of how these things happened," the defeated candidate said. The main target of criticism was the decision of the minister Cristiano Zanin, of the Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), who extended the voting time until 7 pm.
In Flavio's assessment, the extension of the term represented a change in the rules during the dispute. The senator said his legal team will work to challenge the election. The announcement, however, does not represent a court decision of annulment.
The extension was determined amid complaints about difficulties of displacement of voters. According to Agência Brasil, the two candidates had submitted requests related to the extension of the voting time, including the campaign of Flavio himself. Lula won the contest with an advantage of more than 4.4 million votes.

In recognizing the result, the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Nunes Marques, stated that the extension of the schedule did not compromise the electoral result.
