Free theater in Ponta Grossa: 'As Ligações Perigosas' returns with only 20 seats per session

The show “As Ligações Perigosas” on Ponta Grossa is back on stage with a new season of free performances. Produced by the Ponta Grossa Theatre Group (GTPG), the assembly will be presented between Wednesday (21) and Friday (23), always at 8 pm, at the Cultural Center (CinePG). With a different proposal from the previous season, the show will have capacity for only 20 spectators per session, providing a closer experience between the audience and the actors.

The new season is set in an intimate format, in which viewers can closely follow the expressions, gestures and emotions of the characters. The setting of the space seeks to intensify the theatrical experience and highlight the psychological conflicts that drive the story.

With free entry and indicative classification of 16 years, the presentations will be made in order of arrival, without the need to buy tickets. The realization is of Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, through the Municipal Secretariat of Culture.

Show bets on the proximity between actors and public

One of the main differentials of the new season of “As Ligações Perigosas” is the scenic layout, which puts the spectators close to the actors and allows to perceive details that could go unnoticed on a conventional stage.

The proposal values the silences, looks and gestures that reveal the true intentions of the characters, especially in a narrative marked by seduction, manipulation and power disputes.

According to Carlos Alexandre de Andrade, director of the GTPG and responsible for the text and the direction of the assembly, the choice of format is directly related to the characteristics of the work.

“We chose this format because As Ligações Perigosas is a work that gains strength precisely in the details, in the looks, in the unspoken words and in the hidden intentions behind each gesture. The proximity allows the audience to enter this game of seduction and manipulation in a more direct way, realizing nuances that make all the difference in the construction of the characters.

The director also points out that the experience broadens the interaction between the cast and viewers, reinforcing one of the main characteristics of live theater.

History involves seduction, lies and revenge

Inspired by French writer Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s eponymous soap opera, the play presents a plot built on relations of power, vanity, resentment and desire.

In the story, old relationships and personal interests intersect in a web of seduction, lies and revenge. Throughout the narrative, the characters put at risk reputations, friendships and affective bonds in pursuit of their own goals.

The montage also proposes reflections on social appearances and human contradictions, exploring how feelings and interests can influence behaviors and decisions.

With the new season, GTPG expands the opportunities for Ponta Grossa audiences to get to know the theatrical adaptation of the classic work.
