Gangster deceives woman in Ivaí and clears bank account

Around 10:30 a.m. on Friday (06), a woman appeared at the headquarters of this military police detachment reporting that she was the victim of a financial coup through electronic fraud.

The reporter reported that, the day before, around 11:20 am, she received a voice call via whatsapp application originating from the phone number. In the call, the interlocutor fraudulently identified himself as an employee of the financial institution.

The alleged attendant questioned the victim about special check limits and falsely claimed that third parties had applied a scam to his bank account, causing an alleged loss of R$ 5,000.00 (five thousand reais).

Under the pretext of providing technical support for the return and recovery of said amount, the coup leader instructed the victim to follow a supposed "step by step" in the banking application, dictating codes and numbers.

Induced to error, the victim followed the guidelines, at which time several electronic transfers (ed) were made to the account of a third person.

The fraudulent transactions totaled the amount of R$ 29,546.97 (twenty-nine thousand, five hundred and forty-six reais and ninety-seven cents) debited from your account, this amount which consumed the available balance and used R$ 13,997.59 (thirteen thousand, nine hundred and seventy-seven reais and fifty-nine cents of its limit)

In seeking clarification from the bank, the victim was directed by the financial institution to

register this unified event bulletin (bou) to enable administrative and contestation of bank fraud.

In the face of the facts, the victim was duly directed to preserve the extracts,

transfer and call/message records, being informed about the criminal representation procedures at the civil police station and this bulletin was drawn up for the proper purposes of law.
