The GCM saves baby in Uvaranas after a child of only 2 months suffered a choking on the morning of Friday (2), in Ponta Grossa. The care was carried out by agents of the Municipal Civil Guard in the Uvaranas Regional.
According to information from the Municipal Secretariat of Citizenship and Public Security, the incident began when the mother of the baby sought help directly in the unit of the Municipal Civil Guard. She told officers that her daughter was choking and had difficulty breathing.
In response to the situation, the guards immediately started the care. While one of the inspectors assisted and guided the mother, another officer performed the maneuver to clear the child's airways.
Baby breathes again after treatment
The intervention was positive. After performing the maneuver, the baby resumed breathing normally and resumed crying, signaling that the airways had been released.
The rapid action of the agents was essential to stabilize the situation while specialized medical attention was activated.
After the rescue, a team of the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) was called to the Regional Uvaranas to evaluate the child.

After the evaluation carried out by the emergency team, there was no need to refer the baby to a hospital unit.
The case ended without a record of complications after the initial care provided by the municipal agents and the subsequent evaluation of the Samu.
The occurrence reinforces the importance of rapid response in choking situations, especially involving infants, since airway obstruction can rapidly evolve into a severe condition.
The service registered on Friday integrates the occurrences provided by the Municipal Civil Guard of Ponta Grossa in the region of Uvaranas. In the episode, the immediate action of the agents allowed the child to regain his breath still in place.
The occurrence also draws attention to the importance of caregivers knowing basic first aid procedures. In situations involving choking babies, the guidance is to immediately seek emergency care through official channels, such as the Samu, by the number 192.
