Germano Krüger's Wall Demolished and Arena Espaço Smart Project Advances

The work of the Arena Espaço Smart won another chapter visible on Wednesday (14), in Ponta Grossa. The wall of the Estádio Germano Krüger located at the corner of the streets Padre Nóbrega and Emílio de Menezes was demolished as part of the process of transformation of the traditional house of the Operário Ferroviário.

The removal of the structure takes place after the demolition of the old bleachers located behind the goal on the side of Padre Nóbrega Street. Those who pass by the stadium can already perceive a significant change in the landscape of Germano Krüger, while the work for the construction of the new arena of the Phantom advances.

Works advance on the side of Padre Nóbrega

The area of Padre Nóbrega Street concentrates the first major stage of the modernization of the stadium. Before the beginning of the heavier interventions, the Worker performed preparatory services, such as removal of wire fences, bodyguards and other elements of the old structure.

The work then effectively entered the transformation phase of the sector. The club’s planning foresees a new structure in the form of a slide, in addition to commercial spaces integrated into the arena.

The informed forecast for the completion of this first slide remains between the end of February and the beginning of March 2027. In September, the club had already indicated March 2027 as the deadline for the delivery of the first phase of the project.

Demolition of the wall changes the scenery of Germano Krüger

The removal of the wall at the corner of Padre Nóbrega with Emílio de Menezes represents another visible stage of transformation. After decades of being part of the external structure of Germano Krüger, the section gives space to the necessary interventions for the implementation of the new sector.

The project will be executed in stages, allowing the modernization to progress gradually. In the phase previously announced by the club, new seats are planned for fans and commercial areas, expanding the use of space beyond football matches.

From Germano Krüger to Arena Smart Space

In addition to structural change, the stadium undergoes a transition of identity. In September, Operário confirmed the naming rights agreement with Espaço Smart, a company of Punta Grossense origin that was already a master sponsor of the club. With the contract, the commercial name of the Alvinegra house will be Arena Espaço Smart.

The change is being carried out gradually. The name Arena Espaço Smart is already used to identify the project and the works, while the name of the entire stadium should be consolidated after the completion of the first stage of the modernization.

With the old bleachers already removed and now with the demolition of the wall, the transformation of Germano Krüger enters an increasingly perceptible phase for the fans and residents of Vila Oficinas.
