GOE seizes nearly 7 kg of drugs and arrests two in Ponta Grossa
Nearly 7 kg of drugs seized in Ponta Grossa by GOE after driver made dangerous maneuvers on Cará-Cará. Two young men were arrested.
An approach of the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) of Ponta Grossa ended with two young people arrested and almost 7 kg of drugs seized, on the night of Wednesday (4), in the neighborhood of Cará-Cará. The incident was recorded around 7 pm, after agents of the Special Operations Group (GOE) identified a vehicle performing dangerous maneuvers.
According to information from the Municipal Civil Guard, the team was conducting patrol activities when it noticed the irregular driving of the car. In the face of the situation, the agents decided to carry out the approach to check the condition of the vehicle and identify the occupants.
In the car were two young men, 22 and 25 years old. During the surveillance, the guards located several substances with characteristics similar to those of illicit drugs.
Nearly 7 kg of drugs were found in the vehicle
Among the seized materials were substances analogous to cocaine, marijuana, crack and hashish. According to the team’s initial survey, the total amount of narcotics reached almost seven kilograms.
The variety and volume of the substances found led the agents to refer the occurrence for investigation on suspicion of drug trafficking.
During the approach, one of the occupants, identified as a passenger of the vehicle, told the guards that the drugs found were his property.
Despite the statement, the two men received a voice from arrest and were taken to the Ponta Grossa Police Station.
Case will be investigated by the Civil Police
At the police station, the suspects were presented to the police authority, along with the seized materials, for legal proceedings.
The Civil Police will be responsible for the continuity of the investigations, including the determination of the origin and possible destination of the narcotics.
To date, no information has been disclosed about the origin of the drugs or possible link of those involved with criminal groups.
The occurrence reinforces the preventive action of the specialized teams of the Municipal Civil Guard of Ponta Grossa, which carry out approaches and monitoring actions in different neighborhoods of the city.
The developments in the case and the situation of the two detainees depend on the procedures conducted by the police authority.
