Gol denies mass flight cancellation to Northeast
Anac dismisses anomalies in Brazilian air traffic flow

Several complaints published on social media on Saturday accused the airline Gol of having cancelled mass flights that would depart from Porto Alegre to the Northeast transporting hundreds of voters. The company denied the mass cancellations and claimed that only one flight, bound for Salvador, was cancelled at Salgado Filho Airport, in Porto Alegre.
In an official statement, the airline said that “the aircraft of flight G3 1979, between Porto Alegre and Salvador, this Saturday (24), presented technical problems and, consequently, the flight was cancelled.”
According to the statement, the affected passengers were re-accommodated on other flights of the airline, "with possibilities of departure today [Saturday] and tomorrow [Sunday]".
The company also said it had created an extra flight due to the cancellation, scheduled for 1am on Sunday, of Porto Alegre to Salvador.
“Gol reinforces that all the actions taken for this flight were focused on safety, our number 1 value,” the company said.
The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) also spoke about the case and confirmed the cancellation of flight G3 1979. The body said that, due to the second round of elections, it has reinforced attention to delays and cancellations, but that "there are no abnormalities in the Brazilian air flow".
