Government advances Family Allowance with adjustment before the second round
October payments should end on Wednesday (21); the justification presented is the risk of extreme weather events

The payment of the Bolsa Família of October will be advanced and should be completed by Wednesday (21), before the second round of elections, scheduled for Sunday (25). According to a report by Carlos Madeiro of the UOL, the change was informed by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fighting Hunger (MDS) on Monday (19).
The anticipation includes 19.2 million families. This month’s installment also incorporates the benefit readjustment, previously announced by the federal government. In an official statement on the update, the MDS reported that the recomposition is 15.04%, raising the minimum guaranteed value per family from R$ 600 to R$ 691.

The estimated average benefit goes from R$ 675 to R$ 777, according to the family composition.
Government presents climate justification
According to the report sent by the ministry to the municipalities and reproduced in the report, the anticipation seeks to reduce the possible impacts of the El Niño phenomenon on families in situations of vulnerability. August and September 2026 had 518 federal recognitions of emergency or public calamity.
In the same period of 2025, there were 253 records. According to the justification presented by the government, growth was mainly driven by storms in the Southern Region, with episodes of heavy rain, hail, gale and flooding. The ministry argues that climate effects affect different territories and may vary by region.
Change also reaches November and December
Normally, the deposits of the Bolsa Família are distributed over the last ten working days of the month, according to the final digit of the Social Identification Number (NIS). With the change reported on Monday, the completion of the October payments will be concentrated until the 21st.
According to the report, the MDS statement also forecasts anticipations in November and December. The change puts the completion of the deposits before the vote of the second round. The justification presented by the Ministry for the decision is the prevention of the effects of weather events on beneficiaries.
