Government of Paraná approves salary adjustment for state network teachers
The increase could reach up to 11% in some categories and covers approximately 68 thousand active professionals and 40 thousand retired individuals.

The acting governor of the Paraná, Darci Piana, on Tuesday sanctioned the law that grants salary adjustment to teachers of the state education network. The increase can reach up to 11% in some categories and includes approximately 68,000 active professionals and 40,000 retirees. Payment will be made retroactively to the month of April.
With the updating of the values, the lowest salary for teachers with a 40-hour weekly workday will be R$ 6,600, considering the benefits. The value is above the national floor of the category, set at R$ 4,800 for the same hourly load. In addition to the basic salary, Paraná teachers receive transportation aid of approximately R$ 900 and technology gratification of more than R$ 800.

According to the Secretary of State for Education, Roni Miranda, the measure represents a recognition of the work of education professionals.
Currently, the state government has appointed more than 3,400 teachers approved in the last public tender and there are plans to appoint another 1,100 teachers. With the new adjustment, professionals at the top of their careers can achieve incomes above R$ 13,900, adding salary, gratifications and aids.
The financial impact of the measure will be around R$ 456 million annually on the state payroll. The Paraná leads the national ranking of investments in education, with more than R$ 17.5 billion destined for the sector in 2024, a value that corresponds to more than 32% of the state’s tax revenue, the highest percentage among all the units of the federation.
As a result of this investment, the Paraná ranks first in the Educação Básica Development Index (Ideb), with the best averages in the country in elementary and secondary education.
