Grave accident between a pickup truck and a car leaves woman in critical condition in PG
A severe accident between a S10 and a Fox leaves two people injured in Ponta Grossa. The woman was intubated and the driver had to be rescued.
A serious accident in Ponta Grossa mobilized several emergency teams on Tuesday afternoon, in the Vila Ricci region, in the Contorno neighborhood. The collision involved a white Chevrolet S10 pickup truck and a black Volkswagen Fox, leaving at least two people injured. A woman had to be intubated after presenting a picture considered very serious.
The accident happened in Rua Osório Subtil Marçal, at the intersection with Rua Silva Brizola. Teams from the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu), the Fire Department, the Military Police and traffic agents were called in to provide relief to the victims and organize traffic in the region.
Woman Intubated After Collision
According to the information obtained by Portal BnT Online during the live coverage, the passenger of the Volkswagen Fox suffered serious injuries and presented worsening in the clinical picture while receiving care inside an ambulance of the Samu.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the first responders performed the intubation of the victim still at the accident site, as part of the stabilization procedures before the hospital referral.
Until the last update of the report, there was no confirmation about the hospital unit to which the woman would be transported.
Driver was trapped in the vehicle
The driver of the Volkswagen Fox also needed specialized attention. According to information gathered at the scene, the man was trapped inside the car after the impact.
Firefighters carried out procedures to remove the driver from the vehicle. After the rescue, he was referred for care in an ambulance at Siate, where he underwent a medical evaluation.
The severity of the driver’s injuries had not yet been officially confirmed.
The street was closed during attendance.
Due to the mobilization of the rescue teams, a section of Osório Sutil Marçal Street had to be temporarily banned to ensure the safety of the professionals and allow the care of the victims.
The Military Police were on the scene to record the occurrence, while the traffic agents assisted in the control of the flow of vehicles.
The dynamics of the collision between the S10 and the Fox have not yet been clarified. The circumstances which caused the accident should be determined by the competent authorities.
