Highway Police seize cloned vehicle on PRC-466 in Pitanga
Cloned vehicle in Pitanga was stopped on PRC-466 on Monday (5). Driver and vehicle were taken to the police station.

A cloned vehicle in Pitanga was seized by the State Road Police on the afternoon of Monday (5), during an approach carried out on PRC-466, in km 178, already in the urban area of the municipality. The car, a Peugeot 207, had a divergence between the data recorded in the system and the chassis identified by the police.
According to information from the Guarapuava Road Police Station, the occurrence was recorded around 15:05. The team received an anonymous report through the Operations Center indicating that a vehicle suspected of cloning was transiting the PRC-466.
Report indicates suspicious vehicle on highway
According to the police report, the Peugeot 207 passed through the region of Guarapuava and went in the direction of Pitanga. With the information passed on by the Central, the police began patrolling the highway to try to locate the car.
During the search, the team was able to find and board the vehicle at km 178 of the PRC-466, already within the urban area of Pitanga.
Afterwards, the police carried out consultations in the computerized systems and checked the identification data of the car.
Chassis was divergent
During the inspection, it was found that the chassis number related to the plate consulted in the system did not correspond to that which was physically engraved on the vehicle.
The divergence raised the confirmation of tampering with the vehicle identifier signal, a situation that characterizes suspicion of vehicular cloning.
With the finding, the case was initially framed as a tampering of a motor vehicle identifier signal.
Driver was taken to the Pitanga police station
After the approach and the checks carried out by the team of the Road Police, both the driver and the vehicle cloned in Pitanga were referred to the Civil Police Station of the municipality.
The case should be examined by the responsible authorities, who will continue the investigation procedures to clarify the origin of the automobile and the circumstances related to the tampering.
The Road Police must also forward the records of the occurrence and the information obtained during the inspection to subsidize the next police procedures.
The approach occurred in an urban section of the PRC-466, one of the main road links of the central region of the Paraná and an important corridor between municipalities such as Guarapuava and Pitanga.
To date, no other information has been disclosed on the identity of the driver or on the possible origin of the seized vehicle.
