Hole takes over street in Ponta Grossa and residents demand solution from the Municipality

Residents of Humberto de Campos Street, in Vila Coronel Cláudio, in Ponta Grossa, denounce a large hole that is compromising the circulation of vehicles and access to residences. According to the reports sent to Portal BnT Online, the problem has persisted for months and has been aggravating, especially because of the rains recorded in the city.

One of the affected families reports that the situation has reached the point of preventing the use of the main gate of the residence and the entry of the vehicle into the garage. Residents say they have already applied to the City Hall on at least two occasions, but so far the problem has not been solved.

“We’ve had this hole in the street open for months. We have already had the presence of the staff of the City Hall and nothing has been solved. Every day that passes worsens the situation, to the point that the hole takes over the entire street," reported one of the residents.

Residents report difficulties and fear of accidents

In addition to the disturbances to enter and leave the residences, the residents show concern with the safety of those who need to use the road.

According to reports, the flow of vehicles decreased due to street conditions. The passage of garbage collection trucks also generates apprehension among families, who fear the occurrence of accidents or the worsening of damage to the structure of the road.

With the recent rains, the concern has increased. The residents say that the opening on the asphalt continues to grow and that the situation requires urgent intervention.

One of the families says that the last inspection carried out by a representative of the City Hall took place more than a month ago. At the time, residents were reported to have been informed that a protocol related to the problem already existed, referred by councilman Erick. However, according to them, no work has been carried out since then.

City Hall confirms that repair is on schedule

Requested by Portal BnT Online, Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa confirmed that it is aware of the situation and informed that the maintenance of Humberto de Campos Street is planned in the schedule of the Municipal Secretariat of Public Services.

In a note sent to the report, the Municipality explained that the teams responsible for the maintenance of galleries are acting in different regions of the city.

"The City Hall has knowledge of this demand and the repair of Humberto de Campos Street is on the schedule of the Municipal Secretariat of Public Services. At this time, all gallery maintenance teams are engaged in repairs in various points of the city and the detached site will receive maintenance as soon as there are teams available for this service," the municipal administration said.

Despite the confirmation that the service is scheduled, the City has not presented a specific date for the start of repairs.

While awaiting intervention, residents continue to face difficulties in accessing their homes and using the street, in addition to concern about the possibility of aggravation of the problem in rainy periods.
