Identified 5-year-old boy who died in landslide in Ponta Grossa

The child victim of a slip on Ponta Grossa on the morning of Thursday (10) was identified as Vinicius Hendrik L. Machado, 5 years old. The boy was among the three people who died after a large amount of land hit a residence in the Ronda neighborhood.
The tragedy took place on Panama’s Republic Street, near the INSS area. In addition to Vinicius, Kauan da Silva and Jaqueline de Lima Andrade, who had previously been identified by BnT Online, also died.
Vinicius was taken alive.
During the attendance to the occurrence, Vinicius was taken alive from the property and was immediately placed in an ambulance to receive attention from the emergency teams.
According to the information confirmed during the morning, the boy went into cardiorespiratory arrest. Professionals of the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) performed resuscitation procedures, but the child did not resist.
Initially, the information indicated that two adults remained buried while the child received care in a very serious state. The boy’s death was subsequently confirmed, bringing the number of fatalities from the tragedy to three.
Sliding hit the bedroom of the house
According to the information obtained by BnT Online, Ponta Grossa had been recording heavy rain since Wednesday (9). On Thursday morning, an amount of land slipped into a hillside region and hit part of the residence.
The material mainly reached the room of the property, where the residents would be at the time of the slide. The exact circumstances that caused the landslide will still have to be clarified by the authorities.
The site of the occurrence is difficult to access, with a stretch of dirt road and a large amount of mud. The conditions required a wide mobilization of the teams of the Fire Department and the Samu during the rescue work.

Vinícius Hendrik L. Machado, just 5 years old, is the third identified victim of the tragedy. Kauan da Silva and Jaqueline de Lima Andrade also lost their lives after being hit by the landslide.
The three deaths were confirmed after the work of the rescue and medical care teams at the site.
The case causes concussion in Ponta Grossa and new information about the occurrence may be disclosed as the surveys of the responsible authorities progress.
