The image cart installed on Ponta Grossa is expected to perform more than 1,400 specialized care during the month of September. The structure is in the region of Olarias, close to Biblioteca Municipal, and was one of the main topics of the interview given to BnT Entrevista on Friday (4) by the executive secretary of the Ministry of Health, Adriano Massuda, who was in the city to monitor the operation of the service.

According to Massuda, the mobile unit arrived at Ponta Grossa this week and will remain in the municipality during September. The cart has a structure for performing specialized tests, including tomography, approaching procedures of greater complexity of patients served by the Unified Health System (SUS).

Structure works as reinforcement to reduce queues

During the interview, Massuda explained that the wagons function as a sort of temporary reinforcement to the health network of the cities, increasing the capacity for consultations, examinations and procedures. “When we put the cart to work, it is as if it were an injection into the health system, to speed up the conduct of consultations and examinations,” he explained.

The structure is part of the Agora Tem Especialistas program, an initiative of the Ministry of Health aimed at expanding the offer of consultations, examinations and specialized surgeries by the SUS.

The programming of mobile units is defined in conjunction with states and municipalities, taking into account mainly the places where there are larger queues by certain procedures.

Ponta Grossa has already received ophthalmology cart

This is not the first unit of the program to pass through the city. Massuda recalled that Ponta Grossa had previously received an ophthalmology wagon, which he said had performed more than 1,500 cataract surgeries.

Currently, according to the executive secretary, there are 118 wagons in operation in Brazil. In the Paraná, four structures are in operation. Services include imaging, ophthalmology and women's health units. The wagons aimed at women's health, for example, have equipment for mammography, ultrasound and tests used in the diagnosis of cervical cancer.

The service is free of charge on your

Massuda stressed during the interview that the procedures performed by mobile units are offered free of charge to the population by SUS.

According to him, the Federal Government fully finances the operation of the wagon installed in Ponta Grossa, in conjunction with the Municipality and the State for the organization of patients and referrals.

The Secretary also detailed investments in PG

In addition to the wagon, the BnT interview addressed other investments and programs of the Ministry of Health in Ponta Grossa. Massuda stated that the municipality currently has 70 professionals from the Mais Médicos program working in the basic health units.

He also highlighted the investment of R$ 30 million for construction and equipment of the Policlínica and mentioned the delivery of a linear accelerator in partnership with Santa Casa, expanding the structure available for oncology care.

Teleservices for women was also a theme

Another subject addressed was the Acolhe Mais, a teleservice service aimed, among other publics, at women victims of violence.
