Inscriptions open for trail run and river crossing race in Buraco do Padre

The Buraco do Padre, in Ponta Grossa, will be the scene of another edition of one of the sporting events that unites adventure, overcoming and contact with nature in the Campos Gerais. On December 20, 2026, the Nature Park Buraco do Padre hosts the 6th edition of the Trail Run, a race that promises to challenge participants on journeys that pass through rivers, fields, forests and rock formations.
The competition, which is part of the sports calendar of the municipality, will have routes of 7 km, 14 km and 21 km, divided between competitive and participatory modalities, in addition to a 3 km walk for those who want to enjoy the experience without competing in the race.
The start will be from 8am, inside the park visitation area, next to the restaurant, in the District of Itaiacoca.
Race on Buraco do Padre will have routes through underexplored areas
One of the main attractions of the Trail Run Buraco do Padre is the opportunity to get to know landscapes that are not usually part of the traditional tourist itineraries of the park.
During the race, runners will face different types of terrain, including open-field areas, stretches of pine forest, rock formations and points that require crossings through rivers.
The proposal is to provide an experience that goes beyond sports competition, encouraging direct contact with the natural heritage of Campos Gerais.
For the manager of the Nature Park Buraco do Padre, Alvaro Fernandes Dias Filho, the realization of the race reinforces the importance of sports tourism in the region.
“Trail Run is already part of the Ponta Grossa sports calendar and translates one of the most striking features of the Buraco do Padre, which is the possibility to live nature in an active and differentiated way. In addition to the sporting challenge, the event allows participants to know landscapes and stretches of the park that go beyond the traditional visitor route, valuing the connection with the natural environment.

Interested parties can apply until December 13, 2026, at 23:59, or earlier, if all vacancies are filled.
