Jerônimo is reelected governor in the first round in Bahia
PT candidate obtained 55.41% of valid votes, according to TSE data

Jerônimo Rodrigues was re-elected governor of Bahia on Sunday (4), in the first round of the 2026 elections. The PT candidate obtained 55.41% of the valid votes, the equivalent of 4,440.938 votes, according to data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
By 9:23 p.m., 96.73% of the polls had been totaled in the state. With the result, he is mathematically elected.
Jerome was ahead of ACM Neto (União), who received 44.11% of the vote (3,535,498).
The following candidates appear:
Ronaldo Mansur (PSOL), 0.34%;
Aroldo Felix (UP), 0.06%;
Maria Bona (PCO), 0.05%;
Ariel Capistrano (DC), 0.03.
Election to governor is defined in the first round when a nomination gets more than half of the valid votes. With the result, there will be no second round for the government of Bahia.
Current governor, Jerônimo Rodrigues is an agronomist and university professor. He was the state secretary for Rural Development and Education and the national secretary for Territorial Development. I was looking for re-election.
On social networks, Jerônimo celebrated the re-election and wrote that he will work to elect President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the second round.
"Bahia will keep moving forward! We got here because every Bahian and every Bahian believed in our project. Now, we will roll up our sleeves and go to the second round of elections, alongside President Lula, to ensure the victory of democracy. Let's fight! Thank you," the re-elected governor posted.
The vote for governor took place simultaneously with the election for president, senator and federal, state or district deputies (in the case of the Federal District).
