The candidate for federal deputy Jorge Derbli, of the Republicans, stated that he intends to concentrate his performance in the representation of the Center-South of the Paraná if he is elected to the Chamber of Deputies. In an interview with the BnT Elections 2026 series, the former mayor of Irati placed investments in BR-153, infrastructure for municipalities, rural roads and resources for hospitals among his top priorities.

Born in Ponta Grossa, Derbli recalled during the interview his connection to the city. He said that he was born and spent part of his childhood in the Ronda region before moving, at the age of 15, to Irati, a municipality where he built his professional, family and political trajectory.

Derbli was elected mayor of Irati in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. Now, he's vying for a seat as a federal deputy for the Republicans, with the number 1066.

Representation of the South-Center

One of the main arguments presented by the candidate is the need to broaden the political representation of the municipalities of Centro-Sul paranaense in Brasília.

Derbli said he intends to develop a campaign focused especially on cities in the region and criticized what he called “electoral tourism”, an expression he used to refer to candidates from other regions who seek votes in municipalities during the electoral period.

According to the candidate, the proposal is to build a political performance closer to the demands of Irati and neighboring municipalities.

“It is time for Irati to have a representative there in Brasilia, from the land, to represent the region,” he said.
