The programming of the 18th Festa do Dia de Castro begins this Friday (30), with a show of the Jota Quest. On Saturday (31), the audience follows the presentation of the gospel singer Nívea Soares and on November 1 (Sunday), the duo Antony & Gabriel closes the program of shows. The gates will be open sooner for the other events, in the three days, and the shows are scheduled for 21 hours.
The information was confirmed by the Secretary of Government of Castro, Ricardo Cardoso, in an interview with BnT News on Tuesday (27). According to him, the event was scheduled for previous weeks, but had to be postponed due to rain.
“Due to a period of rains here in the municipality, we end up postponing this event now for this weekend, which is from the 30th to the 1st, in which we will have there a series of attractions, national shows and many other things that will happen at the Dário Macedo Exhibition Park from next Friday, starting there at 1:00 pm,” said Ricardo Cardoso.
According to the secretary, the purpose of the mayor’s management Reinaldo Cardoso is to invest in event tourism to foster the local economy.
"We have the objective during the management of the mayor Reinaldo Cardoso to really invest in tourism. And this tourism of events, it has been a propeller for these good projects, but mainly to attract people from outside to our city. So what's the point? In this way, we promote our trade. We seek here, during this programming, to serve local companies, that the companies are really providing service there in the Exhibition Park to really make our economy turn," he explained.
On the choice of the shows, the secretary highlighted the diversity to reach all audiences.
"The shows for Castro Day, last year we had Castro Week, and now we have Castro Day. We are going to have the show of Jota Quest on Friday, we left a little of the sertanejo on Friday, but also to please another audience, which we are seeing there that is having a very positive result. We will have a gospel singer, Nívea Soares, on the 31st, and then on Sunday we will have the Antony & amp; Gabriel show, a sertanejo show, closing this schedule of shows."
In addition to the national shows, the 18th edition will have programming throughout the day, according to Ricardo Cardoso.
"And during this edition of Castro Day, we will have there other activities, we will have the Trekker Trek, which is something that happens already traditionally here in the municipality, is organized by an association. So we brought this to the Castro Day schedule, balloon captive, an exhibition of old cars, a fair of semi-new ones, and a food court prepared with great affection for our population and also for people who come from outside of Castro,” he said.
The secretary detailed other attractions and the differential of the event.
"We have from Friday already a car fair that is happening in the exhibition park. We have prepared a very diverse food square to really cater to all kinds of audiences. We have here a differential here in the municipality of Castro, that we list the prices of the things that are sold, so as not to get too expensive, much above, that the population can really enjoy. We will have Trekker Trek, which takes place during the day in the exhibition park, and also there in the evening we will have the shows."
For Ricardo Cardoso, the structure of Dário Macedo Park is one of the strengths to welcome the public, safely and regardless of the weather.
One point highlighted by the Secretary is gratuitousness. "This is a very important point. The shows are 100% free. It is available to sell cabins through the website of the City Hall, has a link that you direct to the cabins, but all the attractions are free. The park, the pavilion, it is closed, so regardless of whether it rains or not, we have all the conditions for the event to happen, you do not have to worry about the rain issue. There are more than 5,000 meters of closed area where the shows and the programming of the 18th Day of Castro will take place," he said.
The City Council plans great economic movement in the three days of celebration.
"We expect there in the three days an audience of around 15,000 to 20,000 people, but it really is to develop the municipality. In the rodeo, for example, now in March, practically what was spent ended up rotating here in the economy, because people end up buying in the market, buying in the stores, hotel chain, fuel stations, pharmacy, all this to really develop ", he said.
In the end, the Secretary made the invitation to the entire region.
"Really, it is nothing to thank for the opportunity to be here together with the BNT and to invite all our population and also here the region of the Campos Gerais to participate in this 18th Day of Castro. Everything is being prepared with great affection for our population and also for tourists who come to visit our city from Friday, at 1 pm, in Dário Macedo Park."
