The quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sul-Americana come at decisive moments on Wednesday (16) and Thursday (17). Palmeiras, Corinthians, Flamengo, Santos and Atlético-MG are among the Brazilians who enter the field in the two continental tournaments.

On Wednesday, two matches start at 7 pm: LDU x Palmeiras, for Libertadores, and Atlético-MG x Santos, for South Americana. At 21:30, Corinthians and Estudiantes decide a spot in the semifinal of the Libertadores. On Thursday, Flamengo x Independiente del Valle and Montevideo City Torque x Cienciano close the schedule of Wednesdays.

LDU x Palmeiras: Libertadores on Wednesday

The LDU receives the Palmeiras on Wednesday (16), at 7 pm, at the Rodrigo Paz Delgado Stadium, in Quito. Palmeiras won the first match by 1 to 0 and, therefore, advances with a draw. An Ecuadorian victory by a goal leads to the penalty shootout.

Where to watch: Paramount+.

The escalations have already been confirmed for the confrontation. The Palmeiras will have a formation with three defenders and does not count on Gustavo Gómez, suspended.

LDU: Gonzalo Valle; Weigandt, Adé, Richard Mina and Segovia; Yerlin Quiñónez, Juan Rodríguez, Lucas Rodríguez and Sebastián González; Janner Corozo and Michael Estrada.

Palmeiras: Carlos Miguel; Giay, Murilo, Bruno Fuchs, Barboza and Piquerez; Lucas Evangelista, Marlon Freitas and Andreas Pereira; Jhon Arias and Flaco López.

Atlético-MG vs Santos for South Americana

Also at 7 pm on Wednesday, Atlético-MG and Santos face each other in Arena MRV, in Belo Horizonte, for the return of the quarter-finals of Copa Sul-Americana.

Santos arrives with an important advantage after winning the first confrontation by 2 to 0. Fish can even lose by a goal difference and still advance. Atlético-MG need to win by three goals to qualify in normal time; Mineiro’s two-goal win takes the decision to the penalty shootouts.

Santos is already climbing with Rony next to Gabigol. Neymar is out for injury.

Corinthians vs Estudiantes decides strike in the Libertadores

Later, at 9:30 pm, Corinthians welcomes Estudiantes at Neo Química Arena. The first confrontation, played in Argentina, ended 1-1. Whoever wins this quarter advances to the semi-finals; a new equality takes the definition to the penalties.

Where to watch: TV Globo, ge TV and Paramount+.

Fernando Diniz must maintain the base used in the one-way game. Yuri Alberto remains out while Raniele serves the suspension.

Flamengo decides qualifying on Thursday

On Thursday (17), Flamengo receives Independiente del Valle at 9:30 p.m., in the Maracanã, around the Libertadores quarters.

The Rubro-Negro built a good advantage by winning 2 to 0 in Quito. With this, he can even lose by a goal of difference in Rio de Janeiro and still guarantee presence in the semifinal. Ecuadorian victory by two goals leads the decision to the penalties.

The last match of the Copa Sul-Americana quarters will be between Montevideo City Torque and Cienciano, also at 9:30 pm on Thursday, at the Estadio Centenario, in Montevideo.

Cienciano won the first leg 2-0 in Peru and came to Uruguay in advantage. The City Torque must win by three goals of difference to advance directly or by two to provoke the penalty shoot-out.

The official escalations will be released closer to the start of the game. The trend is to maintain the base used by the teams in the first leg, with Franco Torgnascioli in the goal of City Torque and Ítalo Espinoza in the Science.

Probable Montevideo City Torque: Torgnascioli; Agüero, Kagelmacher, Kevin Silva, Brian Gutiérrez and Silvera; Pizzichillo, Montes and Obregón; Solomon Rodríguez.

Deciding games define the semi-finals

After the matches on Wednesday and Thursday, all the semifinalists of the two main club competitions in South America will be defined. In the Libertadores, Fluminense has already secured classification and awaits the winner of Palmeiras x LDU.

In South America, Boca Juniors and Vasco are qualified for the semi-final on one side of the key, while Santos or Atlético-MG and Cienciano or Montevideo City Torque will define the other confrontation.
