Losses from the rains reach R$ 2.26 million in Castro

The City of Castro and the Defesa Civil Municipal completed the preliminary survey of the financial and structural damage caused by the severe weather event that struck the municipality last week. According to the consolidated data, the estimated losses and costs for the recovery of the city amount to R$ 2,259,064.80 (approximately R$ 2.26 million).

The technical report, drawn up with data passed on by the municipal secretariats, comprises the FIDE (Disaster Information Form) form and details the financial impact in five priority areas of action.

Detailing of technical reports and damage

The total estimated value for rebuilding damaged structures and covering the operational expenses of the task force is divided into the following fronts:

Rural and Urban Infrastructure (R$ 927.5 thousand): Represents the largest share of losses. It includes the reconstruction and recovery of bridges, the clearance of rural roads and the restoration of drainage systems damaged by the force of water.

Operational and Emergency Expenses (R$ 640,000): Operational costs of response teams, including fuel for heavy machinery, overtime for field teams, equipment rental, construction materials, food for workers, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other inputs.

Urban Cleaning and Sanitation (R$ 380,000): Services of scraping of mud, removal of debris, washing and unobstructed public roads, sanitation of playgrounds, benches, grazes and public toilets. It also includes the cleaning of the House of the Heritage Guard and the Municipal Guard, in addition to the removal of vegetation accumulated in the river for the clearance of bridges.

Private Housing Sector (R$ 228,3 thousand): Survey indicates 27 private residential properties damaged by floods and floods, requiring technical and social support.

Public Buildings (R$ 83,3 thousand): Structural damages in educational units and in the Basic Pharmacy Jehovah Ribeiro budgeted at R$ 81,8 thousand, added to R$ 1,500 in losses of materials and equipment.

Advancement in processes and search for resources

According to the coordinator of Defesa Civil Municipal and municipal secretary of Urban Development and Meio Ambiente, Edmir Kirchof, the precise documentation of the damage is the fundamental step for the collection of government financial aid. "We have come to this detailed diagnosis from a thorough work of all our secretariats. This technical and rigorous mapping is what gives us the foundation to seek the support of the State and Federal governments. Our goal now is to ensure that bridges, roads and essential services are restored in their entirety as soon as possible,” he said.

The consolidated reports will be attached to the state of emergency processes to formalize the requests for financial support and the sending of reconstruction kits to the most affected areas of the municipality.
