Lula ignores Flávio's letter and posts about public servant
Lula posted a message about Public Servant Day about 20 minutes after Flávio Bolsonaro released a letter in which he declared himself 'elected president of Brazil'. The senator later backed down and defined himself as 'leader'. The Planalto did not respond to the case.
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) published a message on his social networks about Public Servant Day about 20 minutes after Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) released a letter in which he declared himself the “elected president of Brazil”. Later, Flavio retreated and defined himself as “leader.” The publication of Lula made no direct mention of the letter of the parliamentary.
The post took place on Tuesday night (27.out), the same day that Flávio, his wife and the couple’s two teenage daughters left Brazil. They crossed the border with Argentina and from there, followed for the Estados Unidos, with a brief stop in Ecuador.
Flavio declares himself President-elect
In the first version of the letter, Flávio Bolsonaro stated: “I address the Brazilian people and the international community as the true elected president of Brazil.” The document also praised the Argentine Javier Milei for his “courage, sense of justice and legality” and stated that the American Donald Trump is a “great defender of freedom of expression.”
The senator also criticized the extension of the voting time, stating that the decision to extend the vote until 7 pm allowed Lula to receive the necessary votes to win. However, the source did not detail the total number of votes recorded in that period.

Recuo and new version
Hours later, Flávio Bolsonaro released a new version of the manifesto, in which he defined himself as “the leader of Brazil”. The change was recorded in a separate document, available in PDF. The Senator did not explain the reason for the amendment.
In the letter, Flavio also claimed to be the target of political persecution: “What exists is a politically motivated witch hunt, which aimed to place me as a hostage and an object of blackmail to protect the corrupt judges of the Supreme Court from impeachment.”
Escape and subpoena of the PF
At the behest of Minister Alexandre de Moraes of Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), the Federal Police ordered the senator to hand over his passports on Monday (26.out). The PF’s request to Moraes, which originated the subpoena, was made only 7 minutes after the Superior Electoral Court declared the result of the presidential election.
Flávio Bolsonaro denied that he had fled the country. “I did not run away from Brazil, I left for Brazil, I left an exceptional regime to be the leader that my people deserve, because silent, imprisoned and censored, as my father is, I could not be that leadership,” he wrote.
Comparisons and Leadership of the Opposition
In the manifesto, Flávio compares himself to historical and political figures such as Rui Barbosa, Floriano Peixoto, Charles de Gaulle, Juan Guaidó, Edmundo González and María Corina. He also said he will continue to lead the opposition even outside Brazil.
I know that today you do not have the necessary freedom for the full exercise of political activity. That's why I'll lead the opposition from here. I will tell you what you cannot say, and I will take the risks you cannot take,” he said.
The plateau does not show
Power360 went to the Palace of the Plateau by e-mail to ask if it would like to speak about the letter of Flávio Bolsonaro. There was no response until the publication of this report. The text will be updated if a demonstration is sent to this digital newspaper.
Lula’s publication on the Day of the Public Servant, made minutes after the disclosure of the letter, did not mention the senator or the contents of the manifesto. The president merely paid tribute to public officials.
