Man accused of killing app driver in Reserva is arrested in Santa Catarina

The Civil Reserve Police reported on Tuesday (15) the execution of the temporary arrest warrant in favor of Lucas Mateus de Almeida, a man named as the author of the murder of the application driver, Ludimar Moraes, 48, which occurred on September 4, 2026, in the San Francisco neighborhood, in Reserva.

The investigator, who had been on the run since the expedition of precautionary measures by the Judiciary, was located and arrested on Monday night (14), around 7 pm, in the municipality of Itapema (SC).

The capture of the fugitive was made possible through integrated intelligence work and the rapid sharing of information between the Paraná Civil Police (PCPR), through the Reserve Police Station team, and the Santa Catarina Military Police (PMSC).

From the transfer of strategic data, teams of the Tactics of the 31st BPM/PMSC carried out the monitoring and the approach on site, effecting the arrest of the individual.

After compliance with the court order, the man was referred to the prison system of Santa Catarina, where he remains at the disposal of the Judiciary.

CRIMINAL RESUME AND INVESTIGATION

The murder occurred on the morning of September 4, at around 9:55 am, when Ludimar was caught inside his vehicle and shot with a firearm.

According to the investigations conducted by PCPR, the crime was motivated by disagreements and repeated threats arising from a traffic accident that occurred months earlier. In previous steps taken at the suspect's residence in Reserva, civilian police seized a 380-caliber pistol carrier, compatible with the ammunition collected at the crime scene.

The PCPR will continue the proceedings of the police investigation, which is expected to be completed in the coming days.
