Man becomes kayak in Alagados waters and is rescued by influencer

A man was rescued in the Alagados after turning into a kayak during a fishing trip and drew attention on social media this week. The case took place in the Alagados region, in Ponta Grossa, and gained repercussion after the influencer Diego Camargo, of the channel Entre Iscas e Barracas, published the video of the rescue.

According to the account released by the influencer, the man, known by the nickname of “Viciadinho” among the practitioners of sports fishing, was in a kayak when he ended up turning the boat while trying to get the cell phone that had fallen into the water.

After the accident, he managed to remain clinging to the flipped kayak while waiting for help. The rescue came when Diego Camargo arrived at the scene to record content for his channel and realized that the friend did not respond to calls by radio.

What would be more of a recording related to sport fishing almost ended in a tragedy. The influencer found the partner in a risky situation and was able to carry out the rescue safely.

According to the information released, the man did not need medical attention after the accident, but was emotionally shaken by the situation and waited a few days before the release of the video.

The publication was made on Wednesday (9), about three weeks after what happened. According to Diego, the disclosure only happened after the friend’s authorization and after he presented improvement in the psychological aspect, precisely so that the case served as an alert for other fishermen.

In the post, the influencer highlighted the importance of using safety equipment during kayak fishing.

“May this video serve to raise awareness among the kayak fishing community to take proper care of the fisheries. It's very easy to get the worst. Thank God everything went well. Let it be a lesson and care for everyone,” Diego wrote.

The case also reinforces the warning of risks involving activities in rivers and dams in the Campos Gerais region. Recently, another episode involving a vessel caught attention in the waters of Rio Tibagi, in Ponta Grossa.

At the time, a 30-year-old man from Irati disappeared after a boat turned during a fishing trip in the Vila de Uvaia region, in the district of Uvaia, near the bridge of Rio Tibagi and BR-373. The searches were carried out by the teams responsible, but the case had a different outcome.

Despite the scare, the man had only material damage and managed to get out of the situation without serious injuries. The episode serves as reinforcement for fishermen to always use safety equipment, especially life jackets, in addition to maintaining communication and planning before entering the water.
