Man claims he locked wife pregnant and children before setting fire to furniture in house in PG

New information on the fire case recorded on Friday morning in Vila Santa Lúcia, Jardim Carvalho region, in Ponta Grossa, indicates that the man suspected of causing the fire had locked the pregnant wife and children inside the residence before setting fire to furniture on the outside of the property.

According to the report passed on by the victim to security teams, the man closed the house preventing residents from leaving the site and then set fire to furniture that was in the garage, in front of the residence. The suspicion is that the action would have caused the risk that the flames would reach the property with the family still inside the house.

The case came after a family disagreement. According to initial information, the wife reported that the man had exhibited altered behavior since the day before and had made threats against her. According to the report, the woman was later able to leave the residence to seek care at a health post.

During this period, the man allegedly set fire to the furniture that was in the outside area, causing the flames to hit part of the structure of the house. The family consists of five people and the wife is six months pregnant. Among the objects destroyed by the fire were two sofas and beds, plus a table and a mattress that would have been cut. Firefighters were called in to control the fire and prevent further damage. The police also began searching for the suspect after the incident.
