Man falls into lake at Municipal Palace and dies in Carambeí

A man died after falling into the lake of the Municipal Palace of Carambeí, in the Campos Gerais, in the afternoon of Saturday (31). The incident was recorded around 13:05 and mobilized teams of the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) and the Defesa Civil. The victim was identified as 81-year-old José Antônio Guimarães.

According to preliminary information, images recorded at the site show the moment when the man walked towards the lake and ended up falling into the water.

After the fall, José Antônio would still have been able to swim for a few moments. However, at a certain point, it stopped moving, a situation that led to the activation of emergency teams.

The man was referred to medical attention.

Teams from Samu and Defesa Civil attended the event in the Municipal Palace. The man was pulled out of the water and received first aid.

Afterwards, he was referred to the Municipal Health Center of Carambeí for medical care. Despite the efforts of the teams, José Antônio Guimarães did not resist and died.

The case occurred during the afternoon of Saturday, in an area of the Municipal Palace of Carambeí. The information available so far does not clarify the circumstances that caused the crash.

The circumstances of death have yet to be clarified.
