A man found dead in the Neves neighborhood in Ponta Grossa mobilized security and emergency response teams on Monday. The victim was identified as Edson Luís da Silva, 56, and was inside a residence on 15th of September Street, in the Jardim Conceição region.
According to information obtained at the site, Edson worked as a mason and had recently returned from Curitiba, where he practiced the profession. He was again on Ponta Grossa approximately two days ago.
Neighbors are absent
Residents of the area began to wonder about the man’s absence after they couldn’t get in touch with him. According to reports obtained at the scene, neighbors called for the victim, but did not receive a response.
A television remained on inside the property, which increased the concern of people who lived nearby. Failing to respond, residents entered the residence and found the man already lifeless.
After the body was located, teams from the Military Police and the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) were activated to respond to the occurrence.

The area was preserved for the work of the teams responsible for the technical procedures. The Scientific Police were also called to carry out the necessary surveys on site.
Preliminary information indicates that there were no clear elements at the time indicating a death caused by third parties. The victim had an injury to the nose, which, according to initial information, could be related to a fall.
Despite the initial assessment, only expert examinations can officially determine the cause of death.
The body of Édson Luís da Silva was sent to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) of Ponta Grossa, where he will undergo a necropsy examination.
