Man hides clothes in pants and ends up arrested in Ponta Grossa Center

A man was arrested for theft at the Ponta Grossa Center, in the Campos Gerais, on Tuesday (20), after a team of the Proximity Police of the 1st Battalion of the Military Police (1st BPM) received popular information about a suspect who was carrying clothes hidden under the clothes. During the approach, the police found goods that, according to the PM, had been taken from a store without payment.

According to the information released by the Military Police, the team was patrolling the central region of the city when it was alerted by people who were nearby. The reports indicated that a man was carrying pieces of clothing in a suspicious manner.

With the characteristics reported, the police began searching the area and were able to locate the suspect. During the approach, pieces of clothing hidden between the man’s body and pants were found, as well as other products that were stored in a bag.

When asked about the origin of the goods, the man admitted that he had withdrawn the products from a commercial establishment without making the payment.

Shop recognized goods recovered by the PM

After the approach, the police team travelled to the indicated commercial establishment to verify the origin of the products.

The store manager recognized the goods as belonging to the trade. In all, the police recovered five shirts and two pairs of socks.

Also according to the Military Police, images of the monitoring system of the establishment recorded the action. The recordings contributed to the confirmation of the circumstances reported during the attendance of the occurrence.

The theft case at the Ponta Grossa Center ended with the recovery of the goods and the arrest of the suspect.

Suspect was referred to the 13th Police Subdivision

In the face of the situation, the police gave the man a voice of arrest, who was referred to the 13th Police Subdivision of Ponta Grossa, along with the recovered goods, for the appropriate legal procedures.

The occurrence was attended by members of the 1st BPM Proximity Police, a mode of action that seeks to strengthen the contact between the Military Police and the community.

The identity and age of the man were not disclosed in the company's statement. The name of the trade establishment concerned and the total value of the recovered goods were not disclosed either.

Military Police highlights the importance of the collaboration of the population

After the registration of the occurrence, the Military Police reinforced that the theft of goods of third parties without authorization can configure the crime of theft, regardless of the value or type of goods.

The corporation also highlighted the importance of the participation of residents and traders in the transfer of information that can help the police work.

In this case, the reports of popular allowed the team to identify and approach the suspect during the patrol through the central region of Ponta Grossa.

The case was referred to the Civil Police, responsible for the investigation procedures and other legal measures.
