Man invades old gas station in PG's Center and is caught by GCM

A suspected attempted theft at a decommissioned fuel station in the Ponta Grossa Center mobilized a team of the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM). The occurrence was recorded in the property located at Avenida Vicente Machado, corner with Rua Benjamin Constant, in front of Terminal Central.

The suspicious movement was identified by GCM monitoring cameras, which found a man jumping into the structure of the old fuel station. Faced with the situation, the Integrated Center for Public Security Operations (CIOPS) activated a team of the Tactical Action Group (GAT) to verify the occurrence.

Suspect was found inside the property

When they arrived at the address, the officers located a 26-year-old man inside the structure of the decommissioned station, where there is a work in progress.

During the approach, the individual denied that he was committing any theft. However, the guards found pieces of wires that were already cut inside the property.

According to reports, the man was also in possession of a small knife. The situation raised the suspicion that he might be trying to remove materials from the structure.

The owner did not want to file a complaint

After the approach, the GCM team contacted those responsible for the security monitoring of the property, who communicated the event to the owner.

The person in charge of the old post reported that the existing materials on the site were considered scrap and that there were no objects of significant value. For this reason, he chose not to formalize a representation against man.

In the face of the owner’s demonstration and the verified circumstances, the individual was released by the team of the Municipal Civil Guard.

The occurrence caught attention because it was identified by video monitoring system in a region of great movement of pedestrians and vehicles, near Terminal Central de Ponta Grossa.

To date, there is no information about the effective removal of materials from the property.
