Domestic violence in Ponta Grossa ends with man arrested after assaults on his wife, attack on his son and threat to burn down the residence.
A domestic violence case in Ponta Grossa ended with a man arrested on Thursday night in the Chapada region after a woman reported assaults, threats with a knife and an attempt to burn down the residence where she was with her approximately 8-year-old son.
The incident was recorded around 6:00 p.m. A team was called to verify a possible situation of domestic violence and, upon arriving at the address, received from residents of the region the indication of the house where the facts would be happening.
In the outside area of the property, the agents found a man without a shirt and, according to the report of the occurrence, showing signs of drunkenness. He would be trying to get back inside the residence and forcing the door.
The woman remained locked in the property with her son, fearing further assaults. The boy, approximately 8 years old, is not the son of the man involved in the occurrence.
Women report assaults and threats
After the man was contained, the woman opened the residence. As recorded in the service, there was a strong smell of gas inside the property.
The victim said the man had opened the stove’s mouths and threatened to set fire to the house with her and her son inside the residence.
According to the report presented to the team, the discussion began after the woman returned from work and found the man drinking alcohol. During the disagreement, she was reportedly assaulted with punches, pushes and kicks, including in the region of the head.
The woman also reported that she lost consciousness during the assaults.
According to the report, the man took a knife and tried to use it against the victim. The woman’s son tried to intervene to protect her and was also reportedly hit by a punch.
The victim managed to remove the man from the house.
During the situation, the woman managed to remove the man from the property and remained inside the residence with the son.
Even on the outside, he would have tried to get back in at different times. One of the attempts would have caused the glass to break from the back door.
The man also allegedly damaged objects inside the residence, including a microwave oven.
At the scene, officers found blood stains and a knife pointed by the victim as the object used during the threats. Nearby residents also reportedly witnessed part of the incident and heard calls for help.
Woman was referred for medical care
The victim had a bruise in his left eye, scratches and other injuries to his arms, as well as a bite mark. She also complained about the pain caused by the assaults.
Because of the injuries and the report of loss of consciousness, the woman was taken to UPA Santana, where she underwent medical evaluation and examinations, including a head CT scan.
After the attendance, she was referred to the Police Station to give testimony and request the legal measures related to the case.
The man received a voice of arrest and was referred to the 13th Police Station of Ponta Grossa. The case should continue to be investigated by the competent authorities.
