A man was arrested on suspicion of sexual harassment in Irati after showing his intimate parts to a woman. The incident was attended by the Military Police around 18:56, when the team was activated to verify the complaint.
According to the information passed on by the PM, upon arriving at the scene, the police found the suspect contained by residents, who prevented his departure before the arrival of the team.
According to the police report, the man had displayed his intimate parts in front of a woman, motivating the intervention of people who were nearby.
Suspect would have exhibited similar behavior previously
During the attendance of the occurrence, the police received reports that the man had already exhibited similar behavior on other occasions.
Among the situations mentioned, there would be a previous episode involving a teenager. However, the police bulletin does not detail when the case would have occurred nor does it inform whether there was a formal record of the complaint.

The man was sent to the police station
In the face of the situation, the military police gave voice of arrest to the suspect, who was referred to the Civil Police Station, together with the parties involved, for the adoption of legal procedures.
The case should be analyzed by the Civil Police, responsible for ascertaining the circumstances of the occurrence and verifying the reports of possible previous situations.
The sexual harassment is provided for in article 215-A of the Brazilian Penal Code and consists in the practice of lewd act against someone, without their authorization, with the aim of satisfying the own lasciviousness or that of third parties. The penalty is one to five years' imprisonment, when the act does not constitute a more serious crime.
So far, no information has been disclosed about the identity of the suspect or about any court decision related to the arrest.
