A man was arrested by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) after admitting that he observed a neighbor while she was showering and subsequently assaulted her with a punch in the mouth. The incident was attended on the night of Tuesday (13), around 7 pm, in the neighborhood Jardim Carvalho, in Ponta Grossa.
According to the report card, equipe GAT India was triggered to respond to a complaint of sexual harassment. On arriving at the address, the officers found several people exalted, trying to enter the residence of the suspect.
The guards managed to control the situation and spoke with the woman, who reported what had happened. According to the victim's report to GCM, the episode began on Tuesday morning when she was taking a shower and noticed a neighbor watching her through the window.
At that moment, the woman did not confront the man and left the house to work.
Upon returning from service, he decided to go to the neighbor to ask him about the situation. During the conversation, according to the complaint, he allegedly punched the woman's mouth, causing an injury.
The assault caused a riot among locals, who gathered outside the suspect's residence and tried to reach him to assault him. According to the GCM, officers called the man several times, but he initially refused to leave the residence, saying he was afraid of being assaulted by the people.
After the approach of the guards, the suspect voluntarily left the property. During the approach, he confirmed to the agents that he had observed the neighbor during the bath and that he had punched her in the mouth. The man claimed the assault happened after the woman tried to push him.
In the exterior area of the residence, the guards found several stones that, apparently, had been thrown by people against the property. The perpetrators have not been identified.
A second team of the Municipal Civil Guard was activated to provide support to the occurrence and attend the victim. The woman was referred to a Pronto Atendimento Unit (UPA), where she underwent a medical evaluation due to her mouth injury.
The suspect received a voice of arrest and was taken to the 13th Police Subdivision (13th SDP) of Ponta Grossa, where the case was presented to the Civil Police for appropriate measures.
The incident was recorded as sexual molestation. The definition of possible crimes and responsibilities will depend on the determination of the competent authorities.
