Man is arrested for attempted rape and private detention in Sengés

The arrest for attempted rape in Sengés was carried out by the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) on Wednesday, after a 52-year-old woman reported being threatened, held in private prison and victim of an attempted sexual violence attributed to her former partner, 59.

According to information released by the Sengés Police Station, officers of the Judicial Police arrested the man around 10 am, in the urban area of the municipality. In addition to the suspected attempted rape, he is also under investigation for threatening crimes against women and private prison.

Woman searches for police station after spending the night in jail

According to the Civil Police, the victim appeared at the police station and reported that she had been held against her will during the night by the ex-companion.

According to the testimony presented to the authorities, the man allegedly made death threats using a machete and attempted to force her, by grave threat, to have sex without consent.

After the incident was recorded, the police began diligence to identify and locate the suspect.

PCPR reported that the woman did not initially have all of the man’s identification data. According to the report, the former partner would have avoided providing complete personal information during the relationship.

Even so, the agents were able to identify and locate the suspect, making the arrest in flagrante. An object pointed to by the victim as having been used during the threats was also seized.

A man had been arrested for rape

During the identification of the detainee, the police also confirmed the existence of a pre-trial arrest warrant issued by the Buri district, inside São Paulo.

According to the Civil Police, the warrant was related to a rape investigation and had been issued in 2018.

The corporation also reported that the man did not have regular electoral registration, a situation considered for the immediate fulfillment of the judicial order during the electoral period.

After the proceedings at the Sengés Police Station, the police authority formalized the arrest warrant in flagrante.

The man was referred to the Criminal Police Department of Paraná (Deppen), where he remains at the disposal of the Justice. The case should be analyzed by the Judiciary both in Paraná and in relation to the warrant issued by the Buri county, in São Paulo.

The occurrence remains under the responsibility of the competent authorities.
