Man is arrested in Irati suspected of threatening social workers to interfere in judicial process

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Irati on suspicion of threatening two social workers and his own partner to interfere in a judicial process. The arrest was carried out by the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) on Friday, after investigations that identified episodes of intimidation and possible attempts of coercion against the victims.

According to the Civil Police, the case began to be investigated after allegations of threats against the suspect’s companion, a 39-year-old woman. During the investigations, the researchers identified other situations involving two social workers, aged 30 and 39, who were reportedly intimidated while performing their professional duties.

Suspect attempted to interfere in reports of social workers

According to the investigations, in December 2025, the man allegedly threatened the two professionals with the aim of influencing the elaboration of reports and interfering in their performance in a judicial process related to the investigated.

The episodes raised suspicions of coercion in the course of the process, a crime characterized by the use of violence or a serious threat to favor one’s own interests or those of third parties in judicial or administrative proceedings.

The Civil Police also identified indications that, in August 2026, the investigator would have committed new acts of intimidation, this time against his own companion, seeking to favor his interests during the processing of the judicial action.

Justice orders pre-trial detention in Irati

Before the elements gathered throughout the investigation, the Civil Police requested the pre-trial detention of the suspect, considering the need to protect the victims and preserve the progress of the process.

According to the delegate Luis Henrique Dobrychtop, the Public Prosecutor of Paraná (MPPR) filed a complaint against the investigator, which was accepted by the Justice.

Upon receipt of the complaint, the man became a defendant in the criminal proceedings.

After the court order was issued, police teams carried out diligences and located the suspect in the central region of Irati, where the arrest was carried out.

The man was referred to the police unit for legal proceedings and subsequently transferred to the prison system, where he remained at the disposal of the justice system.

The arrest is preventive and does not represent a definitive conviction. The investigator responds to the charges in the criminal proceedings.
