Man of 55 years old invades association and tries to pull child with visual disability in Ponta Grossa

A 55-year-old man was referred to the police station after an incident involving a visually impaired child in the Association of Parents and Friends of the Visually Impaired (Apadevi), located in Vila Mariana, Uvaranas region, in Ponta Grossa. According to preliminary information, the suspect allegedly broke into the institution and tried to pull a girl by the arm.

According to the reports, the child participated in an orientation and mobility activity, carried out by the professionals of the association. During the action, visually impaired people receive guidance to learn how to move with more autonomy and safety, including on sidewalks and public spaces.

According to the information, the man, who would be a resident of the nearby, began to disturb the group while the participants were on the sidewalk, accompanied by professionals of the institution. In view of the situation, the officials decided to return with the children to the interior of the association.

However, the suspect allegedly entered the establishment shortly after and tried to grab a visually impaired girl by pulling her arm. The action was perceived by people who were on the scene, who intervened quickly and managed to keep the child away from the man.

After the incident, the team of the Tactical Action Group (GAT), of the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) of Ponta Grossa, was activated to attend to the occurrence.

The officers moved to Apadevi and referred the 55-year-old to the police station for proper procedures.

According to initial information, the suspect showed signs of drunkenness at the time of the approach. The motivation for the attempt to pull the child has not yet been clarified.

The case should be analyzed by the police authorities, who will determine the circumstances of the occurrence and verify the possible practice of crime.

So far, no information has been released about possible injuries in the child or about the man’s situation after being referred to the police station.
