Man threatens ex-partner with weapon in Carambeí and is arrested in Palmeira

A domestic violence suspect was arrested by the Paraná Civil Police on Monday (14), during an action carried out by the Carambeí Police Station. The 36-year-old was under investigation for breaking into the former companion’s residence, located in the Eldorado neighborhood, in Carambeí, and threatening the victim and her current boyfriend using a firearm.

According to the Civil Police, after the episode of domestic violence, the suspect left the place on the run and, during the trip, ended up getting involved in an accident. As informed by the investigation, the man allegedly hit a rural worker who was returning from service driving a motorcycle on the Areão road at high speed.

The victim of the accident was rescued and referred to the Regional Hospital in a state considered very serious. The case mobilized the police teams, which continued the search for the suspect.

Prison happened on PR-151

Compliance with the warrant for pre-trial detention occurred in PR-151, in the municipality of Palmeira. During the approach, police located with the man a 38 caliber revolver, accompanied by five ammunitions.

In addition to the arrest related to the investigation of domestic violence, the suspect was taken to the Regional Police Station of Palmeira, where the procedures related to the illegal carrying of firearms were carried out.

The Civil Police said the investigation continues to ascertain all the circumstances involving the case registered in Carambeí and the facts that occurred during the attempted escape.

The Civil Police of Paraná reinforced the request for the population to assist in the fight against crime by sending information that can contribute to investigations and the location of people wanted by the Justice.
