Man tries to flee from traffic stop, drives into officer and ends up arrested in Ponta Grossa
Traffic stop in Ponta Grossa ended with resistance, use of incapacitating device and arrest of a man who had an outstanding warrant.

A transit approach in Ponta Grossa ended with the arrest of a man who held an open court warrant during the early hours of Monday (7). The incident was recorded at around 4:10 a.m., in Balduíno Taques Avenue, central region of the city.
According to the report of the Traffic and Road Safety team, the agents were conducting patrols when they noticed a Renault Sandero transiting in zigzag along the avenue.
Faced with the situation, the vehicle was approached. The driver was qualified and agreed to perform the ethylometer test.
The equipment scored 0.14 milligrams of alcohol per liter of alveolar air.
During the consultation of the systems, the agents also found that the car had liabilities and fines.
It was offered the possibility of regularization of the pending work still on site, but, according to the registration, there was no discharge. The vehicle would then be sent to the courtyard for administrative procedures.
The owner tried to escape with the vehicle before approaching.
In the car was also the owner. According to the report of the occurrence, during the procedures of the approach he entered the vehicle and tried to leave the site.
The agents tried to block the exit. At this time, according to the record, the man would have accelerated the car towards one of the agents who was near the door of the vehicle, creating a risk of falling and injuries. He was contained in the sequence.
As reported by the team, the man presented active resistance and aggressive behavior during the approach. In the face of the situation, the use of force was progressively employed, including a firing of an incapacitating electrical device of the Spark type, until it was contained.
Man refuses ethanol test
After containment, the vehicle owner was offered the ethylometer test, but he refused to perform the procedure.
According to the agents, the man presented signs described in the record as ethyl odor, red eyes, disorder in the clothes, aggression, exaltation, excessive speech and dispersion.
The circumstances and any frameworks related to the driving of the vehicle will be evaluated by the responsible authorities from the elements recorded in the occurrence.
The arrest warrant was in effect.
During consultation with the National Bank of Penal Measures and Prisons, the agents identified a current arrest warrant against the owner of the vehicle, valid until June 18, 2027.
Before the finding, the man was informed about his rights and referred to the 4th Regional Flagrants Center of Ponta Grossa for the appropriate procedures.
The vehicle was picked up from the yard due to the administrative difficulties noted during the inspection.
