Man damages hospital in Arapoti after traffic accident. According to the police, he showed signs of intoxication and was taken to police.
A man with visible signs of drunkenness caused a confusion and damaged the entrance door of the Municipal Hospital of Arapoti, in the Campos Gerais, after being involved in a traffic accident. The incident was recorded by the Military Police on Sunday (1st), at around 17:47, in the central region of the municipality.
According to the police bulletin, the Military Police team had initially been called in to attend a traffic accident in the Arapoti Center region. However, before arriving at the scene, the police received a new orientation from the Military Police Operations Center (COPOM).
The information passed on was that one of those involved in the accident was in the Municipal Hospital, showing signs of drunkenness and aggressive behavior, which required police intervention.
Man Kicks Hospital Door and Causes Damage
Upon arriving at the hospital unit, police identified the man involved in the incident. According to the PM's record, he gave a violent kick against the hospital's entrance door, causing damage to public property.
Aggressive behavior and the high state of agitation of the individual also made medical care difficult. Given the situation, it was necessary to mechanically contain the man to ensure that health professionals could perform the necessary procedures.
The bulletin does not inform the age of the person involved, the extent of the damage caused to the hospital structure or if other people were injured during the confusion.
The suspect is referred to the police
After receiving the first medical care, the man was led and presented to the police authority competent for the legal procedures.
The occurrence was registered as qualified damage, due to the damage caused to the public patrimony.
The Civil Police shall assess the circumstances of the case, including the involvement of the suspect in the traffic accident and the damage caused to the hospital unit.
The police record does not clarify whether there has been confirmation of drunkenness through an alcohol test or blood alcohol test.
