Marcos Bezerra faces double stage of Mitsubishi Cup in Canitar

The driver Marcos Bezerra returns to the tracks between September 18 and 20 for another important challenge in the Mitsubishi Cup. The competition lands in Canitar, inside São Paulo, for a special schedule: the event will be held in a double stage format, increasing the importance of the results in the competition for the championship.

Considered one of the country’s leading cross-country rally competitions, the Mitsubishi Cup brings together drivers and navigators in races that demand speed, technique, precision and endurance. In Canitar, the challenge gains extra weight precisely by performing two stages in the same weekend, putting in play a greater amount of points. Canting should be one of the decisive moments of the Mitsubishi Cup season.

For Marcos Bezerra, the round represents an important opportunity to advance in the season and consolidate the work developed throughout the championship. “A double stage requires even more concentration. These are two important results in the same weekend and we need to be vigilant from the beginning. The expectation is to make a consistent test, seek a good pace and take advantage of each stretch to achieve the best possible result.

The program starts on Friday, September 18, and continues until Sunday, September 20, bringing together competitors from different regions of Brazil. The route in the Canitar region promises to test the ability of the pairs in different terrain conditions, requiring strategy to balance speed and preservation of equipment.

In addition to the search for results, Bezerra views participation as part of the evolution built proof of proof. In a season marked by distinct challenges at each stage, accumulated experience and rapid adaptation to the characteristics of the route can make a difference. “Each test brings a different learning. In MitCup, it’s not enough to be fast. It is necessary to understand the terrain, make good decisions and maintain regularity. In a double stage, all this becomes even more important,” Bezerra adds.

Sponsorship and encouragement of sport

Marcos Bezerra has the sponsorship of Romplas, Spunflex and Pulse, companies that encourage sport and social actions through incentive laws. The support was made possible by the State Program of Promotion and Incentive to Sport, instituted by Law no. 17.742/2013, which allows the destination of part of the ICMS due to sports projects accredited by the State Secretariat for Sport.

Canary Stage

With the cancellation of the Holambra stage at the end of June, due to the heavy rains that hit the region at the time, the Mitsubishi Cup will hold a double stage between September 17 and 19.

The stage this time will be the city of Canitar, already known for offering electrifying disputes in very technical routes and that require skill of pilots and navigators.

Despite the rains that affect much of the State of São Paulo in recent days, the expectation is that the weather in Canitar will be cloudy from Thursday to Saturday, with a forecast of more intense rain only after the specials of the day 19 – referring to the fifth stage of the competition. Rain or sun, the routes of just over 30 kilometers will be unprecedented and the pressure on the competitors will remain high, since the double stage will not have equal paths. Will be two distinct events that will share the same places of departure and arrival, but with a different itinerary, always maintaining the characteristic of the farm, good road, high curves and a mix between stretches in the high cane and stretches already harvested.

The double stage will be divided, therefore, as follows: training and technical inspection on Thursday (17), 4th stage on Friday (18) and 5th stage on Saturday (19). The live broadcast by the official channel of Mitsubishi Motors on Youtube (Mitsubishi Motors BR) will be held only on Saturday (19), but the full coverage will be available on the profile @mitsubishicup on Instagram.

Organized by Mitsubishi Motors, in partnership with Spinelli Racing and homologated by the Brazilian Automobile Confederation (CBA), the Mitsubishi Cup offers a complete experience to competitors, with professional structure, family atmosphere and the high technical level that marks its trajectory of more than two decades. The Mitsubishi Cup will hold two more stages until the end of the year: Limeira and Mogi Guaçu.

Controlled stages with state-of-the-art system

Since the first stage of the 2025 season, a new equipment for speed control, safety and assistance has been used by pilots and navigators: the TRUX. The equipment is also used in the Rally dos Sertões.

The TRUX has an electronic system that integrates communication, safety and navigation, offers features both for the pairs and for the organization of the test as SOS via satellite, request of overtaking, tracking and speed control in radar zones, warning of extreme dangers in the road, as well as prevention of collisions in cases where the vehicles are stopped in places of difficult viewing.

About the Mitsubishi Cup

With more than 25 years of history, the Mitsubishi Cup is one of the most traditional competitions in Brazilian rally. Organized in partnership with Mitsubishi Motors and Spinelli Racing, the category also functions as an important testing laboratory for the brand’s 4x4 vehicles. The 2026 season has seven stages in different cities of the state of São Paulo and is organized by the multi-champion Guiga Spinelli, one of the main names of the national rally raid.
