Mayor of Castro announces administrative reorganization for the next two years of his term
Measure provides review of commission positions and possible restructuring of secretariats; the goal is to maintain investment capacity and adapt the Castro Municipality to the economic reality.

In a statement on Wednesday, the mayor of Castro, Reinaldo Cardoso, announced that the City Hall will undergo an administrative reorganization in the next 30 days.
According to the mayor, the decision comes in the middle of the term, after two years of management marked by works delivered and advances in all areas. The proposal is to initiate a review of the positions in commission and the administrative structure, adapting the City Hall to the economic reality of the municipality and the challenges for the next two years.
The restructuring may also involve a reorganization of secretariats. According to Reinaldo Cardoso, everything is being prepared by a technical team and will be officially announced next month.
"I want to make it very clear that the reason is to maintain the investment capacity of the municipality, which today is a construction site. I want to preserve the pace of these deliveries and guarantee the quality of the services provided to the population," said the mayor.
Reinaldo Cardoso highlighted that in the last two years the City Council has hired more than 200 servers approved in public tenders, mainly for the health and education areas. With this, according to him, it is now possible to dry up the trusted positions and make the administration even more economical.
The mayor also cited the national economic scenario and the uncertainties about transfers and the financial conditions of the new state and federal governments. He recalled that so far the municipality has obtained more than R$ 300 million in resources from the State Government for major works and has a good partnership with the Federal Government, which is investing almost R$ 40 million in Castro, including 160 homes.
"But we need to anticipate and plan the next two years, always respecting the limits of the Tax Responsibility Act. Castro is on track and fulfilling his obligations in a challenging year like this, which had the impact of the El Niño, but the economy represents more capacity to invest in work, health and education, in addition to infrastructure and in the quality of life of our population.
For the mayor, this will remain the focus for the next two years. He said he remains optimistic and confident that Castro will continue to be prestigious by the state and federal governments.
"With the measures that will now be adopted, I reinforce our commitment to take good care of the people's money and make Castro a regional development pole," concluded Reinaldo Cardoso.
