Mazer 'almost cries' talking about Lula's victory in Ponta Grossa Chamber of Deputies
Councilman highlighted contributions to buy school meals during the campaign and defended humility in victory and defeat

Councilman Guilherme Mazer was moved during the speech at Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa on Monday (26), recalling the work of militants in the campaign of Lula. Between thanks and political criticism, he reported that supporters made small fundraisers to ensure food to volunteers.
In opening the speech, Mazer defended respect for the popular will. “We have to be sober and have a lot of humility in victory and defeat,” he said. To support the argument, the MP recalled Lula’s three defeats in presidential elections before he became the country’s leader. He also mentioned the trajectory of the petista in the trade union movement.
The moment of greatest excitement occurred when approaching the electoral mobilization. According to Mazer, there were contributions of R$ 5 and R$ 10 to buy pots, while taxpayers acted without payment. The report was accompanied by pauses and an embargoed voice. During the speech, the councilman also responded to Professor Careca, which had called it “zero one of the left” in Ponta Grossa. Mazer thanked, but refused individual protagonism.

“I appreciate the deference, Baldness, to call me zero one from the left, but I don’t have that pretense,” he said. It then attributed this position to students, workers, and the movements of landless and homeless people.
The statement also had criticism of prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt for his stance towards the federal government. Mazer respected the election result and said that he had greeted Ricardo Zampieri for the election to state deputy. In closing, he provoked the adversaries: “Those who tried to sweep the PT off the map, let them buy a broom with a bit stronger cable, because it broke.”
