The constant power outages in Tibagi and the delay in the re-establishment of the service were the agenda of the meeting held on Wednesday (21), in the City Hall. Convened by the councilor Maninha Serenato, the meeting brought together representatives of Copel, the public authorities, the community and the tourism sector to present the main demands of the municipality and discuss measures to reduce supply interruptions.

The situation worries residents of the city and, mainly, of the inland communities, where rural producers face losses. During the meeting, participants highlighted the need to strengthen preventive maintenance of the electricity grid and improve the agility of the teams in attending to occurrences.

Among the measures discussed are the realization of brushing, the pruning of trees near the electrical grid, the inspection of the circuits and the replacement of equipment. As a referral, Copel announced the development of an action plan to meet the critical segments and prevent further interruptions.

The manager of the Telêmaco Borba agency, Geraldo Jessé Monteiro, explained that the company intends to focus efforts on preventive maintenance of circuits that present recurring problems. “We will make an action plan to maintain the critical circuits. The action plan will include visual and thermographic inspection, pruning and pruning of trees, and replacement of network equipment,” he said.

The councilor Maninha Serenato stressed that since 2021 he has been working constantly in relation to the lack of energy in the municipality and that he has already promoted meetings in 2023 in the Vasto Horizonte to collect Copel’s provisions. According to her, the mobilization seeks to ensure answers to a recurring demand. The councilor also positively evaluated the meeting and highlights the commitment made by the Copel team.

“It was a very productive meeting, with several segments presenting their demands, which are also the demands of the entire population. The Copel team has committed to elaborate a protocol of roughing and revision of the network to address these problems and seek to alleviate the difficulties we are facing,” he said.

Representing the Tourism Council, Luciano de Geus said that the regularity in the energy supply also influences the attendance to visitors and the functioning of tourism enterprises. “We need to better serve visitors to Tibagi, with more safety and electricity so they can get to know our attractions and stay in the inns with peace of mind. It is important to prevent and improve ourselves more and more. We're here to add up, and Copel came to add up with us. Let’s do a better job together,” he said.

The meeting was attended by the Copel team, including Geraldo Jessé Monteiro, manager of the Field Services Base of Telêmaco Borba and Region; Thiago Mierzva, business agent of the public power; and Rafael Silveira Prestes, Distribution technician. Representatives of the Tourism Council, the Community Security Council (Conseg), the community and the municipal secretariats of Planning, Agriculture and Industry and Commerce, as well as the Municipal Legal Office, also participated.

The councilor Maninha Serenato and the City Council will continue to charge Copel for compliance with the announced measures and more agility in attending to occurrences. The expectation is that the action plan will contribute to reducing interruptions and minimizing the losses faced by residents, rural producers and entrepreneurs.

In an interview on the situation, Mayor Rildo Leonardi commented on the impacts caused by the problem and advocates urgent measures to improve supply in Tibagi. “We need a schedule, a planning and actions to improve the care of the population. Each power outage can cause a very large loss, either on a pig farm or in a dairy. When energy is lacking, the producer can lose milk and face milking problems, which also affect the health of the animals,” Rildo said.

The mayor also drew attention to the impacts on homes, such as the loss of food and the difficulties caused by the lack of electricity. For him, the situation requires planning, strengthening of teams and solutions that guarantee faster service restoration.

“We need an urgent solution from Copel. It is necessary to evaluate what can be done, with more teams, technology and planning, to cope with these frequent power outages,” he concluded.
