Memorial Parque Campos Gerais unites different beliefs with ecumenical worship and special structure
Space will feature ecumenical worship, live music, reinforced support structure and inauguration of new environments to welcome families on November 2
With the approach of the Day of the Dead, celebrated on November 2, the Memorial Park Campos Gerais, in Ponta Grossa, detailed the preparations to receive thousands of visitors in an environment focused on serenity, safety and reflection. In an exclusive interview with the program BnT Online, the director of the Memorial, Ricardo Lievore, detailed the special programming for the date and highlighted the recent infrastructure investments made on site.

For Lievore, the date transcends simple visitation, functioning as an essential moment to rescue memories and reflect on life. “Grief is a process that takes time. Listening to a word from an expert, like a priest or a pastor, serves as an encouragement to those who have recently lost someone. We offer this not only to our customers, but to the Ponta Grossa community as a whole.”

Ecumenical Programming and Hosting
Assuming itself as an ecumenical space that respects all beliefs equally, Memorial Park Campos Gerais will promote two religious celebrations open to the public on November 2nd:
10:00: Ecumenical worship with the presence of Father Kleber Pacheco (Parish Nossa Senhora Medianeira) and Pastors Nelson Braido and Tiago (Igreja Cristã Presbiteriana).
15:00: Celebration led by Father Claudemir Leal (Cathedral Sant'Ana) and Pastor Zildemar (Igreja Cristã Presbiteriana de Ponta Grossa).
To provide an even more welcoming and serene atmosphere, a violinist will be present throughout the day, playing music throughout the park to accompany the tributes.
In addition to spiritual and emotional support, the site has prepared a complete structure for those who stay in space for several hours:
Free distribution of popcorn to visitors.
Support tents with places for rest and accommodation.
Sale of flowers, candles and non-alcoholic beverages.
On-site care team equipped with the list of buried to guide visitors who have doubts about the location of the deposits.
Sunset Chapel and Amphitheatre
During the interview, Ricardo Lievore announced an important cycle of modernization and expansion of the park cemetery infrastructure. Among the improvements already completed are the paving and internal street with rainwater collection and wide streets, allowing visitors to park vehicles near family deposits — a direct benefit for elderly people or people with reduced mobility, also ensuring greater safety compared to traditional public cemeteries.
In the area of farewell ceremonies, the Memorial highlights two major novelties:
Chapel Sunset: A new full wake room, equipped with kitchen, air conditioning, monitoring cameras, own parking and privileged view to the sunset. The space allows large-scale funerals to be held in a sector separate from the existing structure, guaranteeing greater privacy for families.
Amphitheatre for Ceremonial: At the completion stage, the space was planned by architects to offer personalized farewells. It has comfortable armchairs, dimmed lighting (adjustable) and a complete system of sound and video to project images and honor the life story of those who left, and may include the support of a ceremonialist.
Crematory and Tribute Alternatives
Being the only crematorium complex in the entire Campos Gerais region, the Memorial meets a growing demand for this process, considered modern and ecologically correct.
According to the director, the service adapts to the demands of different religions. For Spiritists, who often request a wait of up to 72 hours before cremation, the Memorial provides a suitable cold room. For Catholic or other families who opt for cremation but do not have a family tomb or deposit, the space offers a columbarium — an appropriate place open to daily visitation to keep the urns with the ashes and to pay continuous homage.
Special Hours of Death
To meet the high flow of visitors on the Day of the Dead, Memorial Park Campos Gerais will have an extended opening hours:
Date: 2 November (Dead Day)
Special hours: From 07:00 to 18:30 / 19:00 (on the rest of the days of the year, the normal operation is from 08:00 to 17:00).
Recommendation: The direction guides visitors to move calmly and patiently due to the natural increase of movement on this date.
